A birth doula is a professional caregiver who is providing emotional and physical support for the expecting mother and her family. An A.L.A.C.E trained doula understands and trusts the natural process of birth as well as its physical, emotional and spiritual aspects. A birthdoula will not perform any medical tests or interventions but Lidia is a midwife assistant as well and could function as such under supervision of a professional certified midwife. She will help prepare the families by figuring out what is important to them and during birth and after and offer the tools for them to reach these goals as close as possible.

General studies as well as Lidia’s own statistics of clients have shown that hiring a doula before, during and after birth results in shorter and easier labors at home or at the hospital. Hiring a doula also reduces the use of medication and epidurals, Greatly reduces episiotomies, more vbac’s(vaginal birth after the first cesarean birth). Memorable and magical birth moments, better prepared siblings and most important of all: better and healthier outcomes for mom and baby.

When a couple is interested in the services, there will be a initial interview (free of charge) to see if the couple and the doula have the potential to be a perfect birthing team. If this is the case, a simple contract will be signed and the preparation sessions begin. Lidia will assist during birth and watch over you postpartum.
