StylesDifferent finishes are possible. You can choose for a very detailed cast that even shows skin texture, or just showing the contours. Nude or covered with clothing or fabric. Plain or with surreal sculpted additions. Just a belly or belly and bust. You can choose different styles, colors and shapes to fit your likings and home.
When
The best time to come for your casting experience is around the 38th weeks of your pregnancy unless there is reason to believe your baby will arrive early like with twins.
Time
The casting session lasts anywhere from 1 to 2 hours and this includes tea, discussion time, casting and your shower afterwards.
Where
Transitions Is located in a beautiful wooded rural area in Notre-Dame, just a short scenic 20 minutes drive north of Moncton.
Price
Since Lidia is creating custom made casts the prices vary but indicative prices are posted on her blog and sometimes change without further notice. Flexible payment plans are available to give any mom the opportunity to keep her belly forever.
Material
Lidia works with the following materials for the casting session: Alginate (made mostly out of algae), cheese cloth, dental plaster, plaster bandages (medical grade), hair conditioner, vaseline and 100% cotton fiber and nylon fiber. Clients will have the opportunity to read the material safety data sheets before any material is applied.
The process
When you come for your appointment, Lidia usually starts with a conversation and refreshments. When the type of cast is decided, she makes you comfortable and prepares you for casting. After the mold is taken, she will then give you the opportunity to freshen up or even take a warm shower. You'll finish your experience by admiring your belly mold and dream of the gorgeous result. She will also bring your cast to your home after you give birth and hope to meet you again in Transitions for your baby cast experience.
Important things to consider
Casting is safe and fun for any healthy full term mom. The casting session itself is a wonderful experience. Always bring someone with you and book your appointment at least 3 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment.
